Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) Ni-Cr-Mo Alloy: Extreme Corrosion & Fatigue Resistance

Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy strengthened by the addition of niobium. Unlike Inconel 600, the strength of 625 is derived from the solid-solution strengthening effect of molybdenum and niobium on the nickel-chromium matrix, eliminating the need for precipitation hardening.

Technical Specifications

  • Chemical Composition: Approx. 58% Ni, 20%-23% Cr, 8%-10% Molybdenum (Mo), and 3.15%-4.15% Niobium (Nb).

  • Key Features: Exceptional resistance to Pitting and Crevice Corrosion, and high fatigue strength.

  • Applications: Marine engineering (submarine components), chemical processing (acidic environments), and aerospace exhaust systems.
